Welcome back to school

Well, today was a nightmare! First day back to school, and everything that could go wrong did. First, I sat in traffic for 20 minutes trying to get onto campus. Next we had transportation issues. Kids were getting dropped off everywhere and no one even knew their classroom moved. 100-150 special ed kids turns very crazy very quick. About 2 hours after school started I got a call about a student who was lost in the Principals office. Non Verbal down syndrom boy with no ID, name or any information what so ever. I took a picture with my cell phone so I could send it to our staff to see if any school was missing a student. Lucky for us my substitute assistant knew exactly who the student was and which school he was coming too. As we were wrapping up that situation I got a call that I was going to be having a meeting in my office at noon. Upon returning to my classroom I looked at the clock and saw it was only 10:30. I told my staff I needed to sit down and eat something before my meeting so I did. As I am eating the door swings open and it was the parents for the meeting. Quickly I realize that my clock was an hour off and it was actually 11:40. UHHHHHH So during the meeting I was helping staff change and then we went on to getting ready to go home. Our pick up time was 2:00 busses didnt start arriving until 2:40 and the last bus made it through traffic and arrived at wait for it. 4 oclock. Needless to day the first day back was long tiring and most of all Very Very crazy. I can not wait to climb into bed.

Summer Time 2010

Well, tomorrow is back to reality, and I have decided to make a little post before the craziness begins. This summer was amazing... We had not big trips planned, but me did many small things. Once again, we had a summer where we were hardly home. Sean has grown up so much this summer I can hardly believe it. He has learned how to swim, learned how to use the big boy potty, and he has fallen in love. Ryan is enjoying his job so much and he seems to be very happy. And as for me, I have done my best to keep my sanity this summer when it comes to school and moving classrooms, but I will be fine. This summer we have gont to the River, Sea World, Legoland, the Zoo, and the Beach. The river was a great trip with friends and family, and Sea World was amazing. We were able to go with our new friends Matt, Shelly, Sunshine and Chloe. Did I mention Sean is in love with Sunshine. The hold hands, walk, hug and talk about each other constantly. We are truly blessed that when Ryan went away to Oklahoma he found such a great friend in Matt. I just wish we lived closer so the kids to spend more time together. Well, I will keep posting.
